Loose Leaf Tea in New Orleans
Worth Sitting Down For
New Orleans doesn't have a lot of serious tea programs. Witches Brew does. Our full loose leaf menu comes from Wild Coast Brew — complex, botanically driven blends built around archetypes from myth and story. Herbal, fireweed, black, green, and something you've almost certainly never tried before.
Every tea on our menu comes from Wild Coast Brew, founded by Micha — a farmer and chef who spent years running a farm-and-forest-to-table operation in the Coast Range Mountains of Oregon. Each blend is hand-crafted in small batches using ingredients grown on their farm or ethically wildcrafted from the surrounding forest.
The blends are named after archetypes — characters that appear in every myth, every culture, every story ever told. The herbs are chosen to match. It's not a gimmick. It's how they think about flavor.
Herbal Blends
The Heroine
Bold, courageous, complex. Built for the one who charges forward. Herbaceous and grounding with a finish that lingers.
The Lune
Lunar and soft. Floral and calming. The one to reach for when the day needs to slow down.
The Lover
Warm, inviting, layered. A blend that opens up the more you sit with it.
The Creator
Fireweed-forward — a wild-harvested plant with a clean, slightly sweet flavor unlike anything in a standard tea lineup.
The Sage
Earthy, wise, quietly complex. A fireweed blend that rewards patience. Let it steep the full time.
Black & Green Blends
The Magician
Transformative and bold. A black tea blend with depth that shifts as it cools.
The Queen
Commanding, rich, layered. The one to order if you want something that feels like an occasion.
The Protector
Strong and steady. A grounding black tea that holds its character through milk if you want it.
The Shadow
The darkest blend on the menu. Complex, slightly smoky, for those who want the full depth of black tea.
The Stoic
Grounded and steady. A black tea blend that doesn't make a fuss about itself.
The Rogue
Unconventional and a little unpredictable. A blend that takes its own path.
The Ally
Bright, clean, supportive. A green tea blend with a lightness that pairs well with anything in the pastry case.
Single Origin · Jesse's Teahouse
Red Jade
Taiwanese red tea from the Sun Moon Lake region. Notes of cinnamon, malt, and something quietly sweet.
Gaba Oolong
A tea that sits between green and red — processed in a nitrogen-rich environment to increase GABA content. Smooth, sweet, unusual.
Something You've Never Tried
Yaupon is the only caffeinated plant native to North America — and somehow most people have never heard of it. We source ours from CatSpring Yaupon, a women-owned farm in Texas dedicated to reviving this overlooked plant.
It's smooth, naturally low in tannins, and carries a clean sustained energy without the bitterness you sometimes get from green tea. If you've been curious, just ask. It's one of the more interesting things on the menu.
