Lenormand's biggest spread, named for the Parisian card reader Marie Anne Lenormand: all thirty‑six cards dealt at once, nothing held back. First the houses take their places, then the deck is thrown across the table in front of you, and the whole story is read from where everything lands.
How the Table Works
The Houses
The table beneath is fixed. Position one is always the house of the Rider, position thirty‑six always the house of the Cross, and each house holds a subject: news, home, love, money, endings. The houses never move. They are the questions.
The Throw
The whole deck is shuffled and thrown, one card to each house, until every card is on the table. Unlike a three‑card draw, nothing stays hidden: the entire deck is the answer, and the shape it makes is the reading.
Card in House
Each card is read through the house it fell into: the Heart in the house of money means something very different from the Heart in the house of home. A card that lands in its own house speaks with double weight. That pairing is the whole method.
The Thirty‑Six
Lenormand is a small, plain-spoken deck: everyday things, read in combination. These are the cards on the table and what each one carries.
