What it was

The Midsummer Market was our first vendor market — a Saturday-afternoon makers' market on the summer solstice, hosted at the shop on Canal Street. Eighteen vendors, working flash tattoos, plants, handcrafted jewelry, art, plushies, fairy ears, and more. Coffee and tea on the bar all day. A neighborhood crowd that grew slowly through the early afternoon and stuck around past close.

Some of you came specifically. Some of you wandered in from the streetcar and discovered it. Either way — thank you.

What we learned

Hosting a market inside a working café is a different rhythm than running a normal Saturday. The bar still has to make drinks. The floor still has to flow. Vendors need tables, power, signage, and breaks. We figured out a lot of it on the day, which is the only way you ever really figure it out.

The next market will be tighter. We have notes on table layout, vendor flow, timing, and the kind of weather plan you only realize you needed after the day is over.

What's next

We are planning another one. The format will probably stay similar — Saturday, one-per-category, hosted at the shop. The theme and the season are still being figured out. If you want to know when the next market is announced before it goes anywhere else, drop your email below.
